Terms & Conditions

Please read these before you book. We would rather explain everything now than argue about it later.

Last updated 25 August 2026

These terms apply to everything Strawbell Bike on Rent offers — bike and scooty rentals, the caravan, and the adventure activities we book on your behalf. Making a booking with us, in person or over the phone, means you accept them.

Where an activity is run by a specialist operator — rafting, bungee, paragliding or the campsite — that operator’s own safety rules apply on top of these, and their word on eligibility is final.

Booking & Confirmation

  • Bookings are made by phone or WhatsApp. A booking is confirmed only when we confirm it back to you — a message from you alone does not hold a slot.
  • Rates quoted are for the dates and duration discussed. Rates change with the season, and a quote given for one date does not carry over to another.
  • Availability during weekends, holidays and peak season moves fast. Book ahead rather than assuming a slot will be open.
  • You must be able to provide valid ID for every person on the booking.

Documents & Eligibility

  • To rent a bike or scooty you must produce an original, valid driving licence along with one government photo ID — Aadhaar, passport, voter ID or PAN. We keep a copy of both.
  • A refundable security deposit is taken at pickup and returned when the vehicle comes back in the same condition. The amount is told to you at the time of booking.
  • Adventure activities carry age and, in some cases, weight limits set by the operator. The minimum age for river rafting is 15 years.
  • ID proof may be checked again at the campsite or activity site to verify age and address.
  • We can refuse a rental or a slot if documents are missing, appear altered, or if a participant does not meet the operator’s safety requirements.

Rental Timings & Returns

  • The store is open 8 AM – 8 PM, all days. Vehicles are not handed over or taken back outside these hours.
  • If a vehicle is returned late, the next day’s rent applies.
  • Returning a vehicle before the booked period ends does not qualify for a refund.
  • A pickup or drop outside store hours costs an extra ₹500 per vehicle — whether you return early or on time.
  • Bookings longer than seven days must be renewed and the previous payment cleared. Holding a vehicle past the agreed period without renewal is treated as theft and may lead to legal action.

Vehicle Condition & Damage

  • Any external damage to the vehicle is paid for by the renter.
  • Please record a walk-around video of the vehicle before you ride off. It protects both of us.
  • Triple riding is not allowed. A vehicle found carrying three riders can be taken back anywhere, at any time, and the security deposit is forfeited.
  • Helmets are provided with every vehicle and are to be worn. Extra helmets for a pillion rider are available at a small per-day charge.
  • Fuel is not included. The vehicle is handed over and returned at the same fuel level unless agreed otherwise.

Any external damage to the vehicle is paid for by the renter. This is the term people most often skip, so it is worth repeating.

On the Road

  • Our vehicles are permitted for the Uttarakhand region. Tell us your route while booking so you get the right vehicle and the right rate.
  • Punctures and mechanical faults during the rental are the renter’s responsibility.
  • Any roadside support we arrange for you is chargeable.
  • Faults that occur while riding at night are the renter’s responsibility.
  • You are responsible for obeying traffic law. Challans, fines and penalties issued during your rental are yours to pay.
  • Riding under the influence of alcohol or drugs voids the rental immediately and forfeits the deposit.

Adventure Activities

  • Rafting, bungee jumping and paragliding are adventure sports and carry inherent risk. Taking part means you accept that risk.
  • Every participant must follow the safety briefing and the instructions of the guide, jump master or pilot, before and during the activity.
  • Tell the team about any relevant medical condition before the activity starts.
  • Activities depend on weather, water level and site conditions, and may be rescheduled or called off for safety. That decision rests with the operator.
  • The operator’s age, weight and health requirements are final. A participant who does not meet them will not be allowed to take part.

Camping

  • The accommodation type — AC or air-cooler camp — must be confirmed at the time of booking and cannot be changed later.
  • Children below 5 years stay complimentary, 5 to 10 years are charged 50%, and above 10 years the full rate applies.
  • The camp price does not include transportation of any kind.
  • AC in the camps runs only on direct electricity supply. During a power cut it does not run on generator backup.
  • Guests are expected to respect quiet hours and the campsite’s rules on alcohol, music and the surrounding area.

Pricing & Payment

  • Prices shown on this website are indicative and may change with the season, the package and any offer running at the time.
  • The rate confirmed on your booking call is the rate that applies.
  • Payment is made at the store or by UPI transfer. This website does not take payments and has no payment gateway.
  • Any government tax or levy applicable at the time is payable in addition.

Liability

Riding a vehicle and taking part in adventure activities carry risk that no amount of care removes entirely.

  • By renting from us or joining an activity through us, you accept that Strawbell and its associates are not liable for injury, mishap or loss to you or your belongings.
  • We are not responsible for personal belongings left in a vehicle, at the campsite or at an activity site.
  • We are not liable for delays or cancellations caused by weather, road conditions, strikes, government orders or any other event outside our control.

Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellation notice periods, deductions and how refunds are paid are set out separately in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from them is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as our services change. The version on this page at the time of your booking is the one that applies to it, so it is worth a read before each trip.
